Band Camp will be held during the holidays from 30th May (Monday) till 2nd June (Thursday). For those who are unable to attend this camp, please inform Julie Tan or Grace Ng.

Selection of Deputy Drum Major

Selection of Deputy Drum Major will be held tomorrow morning (30th April).

Hari Shapadu Performance

On the 16th April 2011, the CHS Band performed in the opening ceremony of Hari Shapadu at Dataran Shah Alam.

As early as 7a.m., we headed to Dataran Shah Alam and when once we were there, the rain started pouring heavily. We all gathered in a tent that was prepared by the organisers and waited till the rain stopped.

By 10.30a.m., the rain had finally come to an end and the opening ceremony began. It started off with the national anthem and followed by a speech by the chairperson of Hari Shapadu. Then, it was our turn to perform.

After the performance, we got on the bus and headed back to school.

A special thanks to Shea Shin and the colour guards who worked hard to make this performance a success :)

Programme for tomorrow's performance

Programme:

6.45a.m. - Gather at bandroom

7.15a.m. - Depart from school

7.45a.m. - Arrive at Dataran Shah Alam (Rehearsal and then performance)

12.15p.m. - Depart from Dataran Shah Alam

12.45p.m. - Arrive at school

1.30p.m. - Dismiss

Please remember to get rest earlier and please revise the three songs (Hujan Di Tengahari, Tinggi Di Angkasa Raya, Perro Caliante).

New JTS System

For those who are unable to attend band practices due to family trips or other activities that has been planned earlier, you are required to apply for Surat Cuti, signed by the Section Leaders and the President and it must be returned at least 2 days before the practice that you cannot attend.

Same goes for Lewat/Awal, for those who will be late for practices or need to be excused early from practices, you are also required to apply for Lewat/Awal and must be signed by Section Leaders at least 2 days before the day that you will be late or need to be excused early.

If you are unable to attend practices or will be late or need to be excused early at the last minute with reasonable reasons (eg. falling sick), you are allowed to apply for Surat Cuti and Lewat/Awal later.

*Suggestion that Surat Cuti and Lewat/Awal be applied and returned a week before hand to avoid any inconveniences.
