Hari Gerko

Hari Gerko was the usual stuff every year. Ex-Po was the project for us band members. What’s different this year is that it was lead by the joint effort of Form 3 and Form 2 members. The results were satisfactory and I must say, they did a really good job.

They worked hard day by day to plan on this current event. Ex-Po is so significant because this project will determine the number of new members of a new batch. And suffice to say, the results were pretty pleasing. A total of 179 people signed up – both the names from Orientation Day and Ex-Po were taken into account. This year, we are taking in new Colour Guard members too. The targets were mainly Form 3’s.

During the whole Hari Gerko, there were a total of 9 times of short fuses. This means that the light decoration for our stand had to be shut off. The laptop remains useful as it runs with a battery.

There were ensembles being played around the school before the afternoon session students enter their classes. Woodwind ensemble played a Japanese song; Brass ensemble played Blaze Away, while the Percussion ensemble showed off their amazing strokes and rhythm-sense.

Nonetheless, there were minor problems along the way that an outsider sees. The schedule was lagging and many things had to be delayed because members weren’t moving swift enough. Another part is that things get disorganize when the organizing committee does not brief the members clear enough.

Nevertheless, all’s well end’s well. The project was a great success and the interview session will a reflection of our hard work. Till then!
