Back from Hong Kong!

Touring the world with your family, does that sounds exciting? Now, how about doing that with your friends? That is exactly what we did!

Oh yes, we won the GOLD AWARD in this competition, which was participated by bands from a total of 6 countries.

Not just that, we are given the opportunity to perform at Hong Kong Disneyland and visit some famous sites, such as the Victoria Peak. On the second day, we did a Band Exchange Programme with Raimondi College Wind Orchestra, Hong Kong and played "Adventure Tale of Neverland" together as a 100 member band! Without doubt, this wouldn’t be possible without our band tutor, Sir Eric Lee who has gone the extra mile to guide us. May we take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude towards him and our parents who gave us their support.

Band Exchange

Music has no boundaries. Bearing the diversity of cultures, we had a band exchange with Jurong West Symphonic Band from Singapore who was on their overseas field trip on 21th of November 2015. Despite originating from different countries, we are proud to say that our members get along very well, exchanging knowledge and understanding each other’s culture. We performed a total of 5 pieces and played Meghan Trainor’s hits “All About that Bass” together.

Another Doctor in the house!

As we strived to improve ourselves continuously, we were really enthusiastic when given the opportunity to attend music workshops given by experienced musicians. The doctor in question is Dr. Ralph Hultgren, who is a famous Australian trumpet player and composer. He paid us a visit on the 23rd of October 2015 and conducted a music workshop with the whole band. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude towards Dr. Ralph and Sir Eric who made this workshop an educational and unforgettable one.

Telematch 2015

Band is not just about hard core practices but having fun too, as the adage goes all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Band members need some fun in their band life too, right? Thus, on the 29th of September 2015, a telematch was held. A variety of games were organized, such as Balloon King, Bingo, Capture the Flag and Agar.io. Surely you can picture the scene, members running around with big smiles hanging on their faces and joyous laughter reverberated through the sports center as they strived to win the best group award. What happen to the worst group? You might be wondering. Well, they were hit with a plate of whip cream straight into their face!

I Love Malaysia

In conjuction with the National Day, Yeo Hiap Seng Bhd or well known as Yeo's and Harian Metro had launched their "I Love Malaysia" campaign at The New Straits Time Press on the 28th of July. With much honour, our brass and percussion members were invited to perform an opening for this event. Together with the local artists, we led the audience to sing Tanggal Tiga Puluh Satu with much enthusiasm. At the end of this event, the emcee roared merdeka as we waved the Jalur Gemilang flag too. This was indeed a great experience for our members.
